Identify Risks

Go to follow up visits as often as scheduled, especially those for measuring your LDL cholesterol. Work with your health care team to make sure you know which risk factors you have. Common ones include high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Take Medication

If recommended by your doctor, manage your risk factors with medications, like cholesterol-lowering medications. Take them exactly as prescribed and follow up regularly on how well they’re working for you.
