I’ve been fortunate in my twenty-five years in the L&D business to have worked with terrific people in both internal and third-party training organizations, supporting the world’s largest tech companies. I’ve helped implement global learning management systems and dug into cultural requirements with learning groups from Stockholm to Xaimen. I’ve shared the struggles to meet impossible deadlines and felt the excitement and satisfaction when a course hits the perfect mark.
Now I’m excited to take on new challenges. I’m looking forward to creating great courses, building behavior-tracking systems, analyzing learning life-cycle data, measuring return on investment, and breaking the barriers in video to engage learners at a higher level. What’s brought it all together for me is joining the team at Principled Technologies. We have the ingredients to transform these theories and concepts into reality.
My goal in writing this blog is to share the ideas and best practices I’ve learned on this journey and to offer ideas on how to advance the state of the art of corporate learning and development. My hope is this information will generate curiosity, promote critical thinking, and empower useful application in creating and managing all aspects of this business.
As I start this blog and take this exciting next step in my career, I realize why I love this field: It’s all about change! Technology is evolving faster and people are demanding new ways of accessing information. The options we have for enabling sustainable learning are advancing to meet these demands. We have an unprecedented opportunity to solve problems in new and unique ways.
Now the fun begins… raising the bar and redefining corporate training.
