For many busy professionals, daily productivity relies on a laptop that gives them what they need when they need it—long battery life during marathon mobile sessions, the processing power to tackle resource-intensive workloads, and levels of responsiveness and user comfort that help them focus on the task at hand instead of being distracted by a lagging, hot, or noisy system. Now that the heavy computing demands of AI are becoming an integral part of new workflows in many industries, some workers are finding that their current PCs are having trouble keeping up. Tomorrow’s creative and technical stars will need new hardware that can manage AI-intensive apps and workloads while still providing an excellent user experience for the long haul.
We used a range of industry-standard benchmarks and hands-on tests to compare the AI workload, graphics, and day-to-day performance of three 14-inch HP Notebook PCs—an EliteBook 845 G11, an EliteBook 645 G11, and a ProBook 445 G11—to their respective competitor systems from Dell and Lenovo. We also measured and compared the battery life and user experience of each laptop. All three HP laptops we evaluated featured next-gen Zen 3+ or Zen 4 technology-based AMD Ryzen premium laptop processors. The Dell and Lenovo systems featured Intel Core Ultra 7 processors.
We found that the AMD Ryzen 8840U processor-powered HP EliteBook 845 G11 and AMD Ryzen PRO 7735U processor-powered HP EliteBook 645 G11 laptops provided all-day battery life, a comfortable user experience, and received higher CPU- and GPU-focused benchmark scores compared to the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 165U-based Dell Latitude 7450 and Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 laptops, and Dell Latitude 5450 and Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 laptops, respectively.
We also found that the AMD Ryzen 7735U processor-powered HP ProBook 445 G11 received higher CPU- and GPU-focused benchmark scores and provided longer battery life in productivity and video-conferencing scenarios than the two Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 155U-based Dell and Lenovo laptops.
Our results indicate that companies that invest in HP EliteBook and ProBook G11 Notebook PCs can gain future-ready performance across the board in daily productivity tasks and resource-intensive workflows—including demanding AI workloads—along with a cool and quiet experience and long battery life.
