Dell ImageDirect vs. Symantec Norton Ghost 11.5 time savings evaluation We evaluated the time savings an IT organization might realize by using Dell’s online ImageDirect image creation process instead of Symantec’s Norton Ghost 11.5. We measured the time savings on four different system configurations: Dell Latitude E5400 notebook, Dell Latitude E6400 notebook, Dell OptiPlex 780 desktop, and Dell Precision T1500 desktop.

Pairing Intel vPro technology with the new user interface features of Windows Vista in common business tasks We compared the performance in scenarios that utilize advanced user interface features in Microsoft Windows Vista on an Intel vPro technology-based PC with that of three other platforms. We tested three scenarios that took advantage of various new features of Windows Vista. PT made evaluations based on a combination of hard performance measurements and subjective quality assessments.
How an Intel vPro technology-based PC running Windows Vista compared with other platforms on 10 common business scenarios We explored response time during real-world work scenarios involving security anti-malware, sales and marketing with PowerPoint, communication and collaboration, data encryption, Monte Carlo simulation, revenue recalculation, and QuickBooks Pro reports. We also explored the experience a typical business user would have with some of Windows Vista’s user interface features involving find-and-use, playing HD video while executing other tasks, and supporting dual monitors.

Energy consumption of seven Intel chipset motherboards We measured the energy consumption of systems with the following motherboards: Asus P5B-VM SE with Intel® G965 chipset, Asus P5E-VM DO with Intel Q35 chipset, Asus P5K-VM with Intel G33 chipset, Gigabyte GA-G33M-S2L with Intel G33 chipset, Intel DQ35JOE with Intel Q35 chipset, Intel DQ45CB with Intel Q45 chipset, and Intel DQ45EK with Intel Q45 chipset.

Desktop and notebook system processors: Time and energy savings from upgrading to current models We tested the performance and energy usage of current Intel Core 2 Duo processor-based desktop and notebook systems against that of an older Intel Pentium 4 processor-based desktop system and an older Intel Core Duo processor-based notebook system while running three custom application scenarios.
Consumer notebook and desktop systems: Time savings from upgrading to current models We measured the increase in speed that the latest generation of processors brought to four typical consumer tasks: importing and burning video to DVD; importing, resizing, and burning photo images to CD; copying a DVD to iPod touch; and watching streaming high-definition video.
